This is a great site to link to for calls for artists. You post your work to a portfolio on the site, and then enter the images in the shows shown on the site. Very comprehensive and free.
This is the home site for Plein Air magazine, the current "bible" for outdoor painters. You can subscribe to digital and or paper copies of the magazine.
New Zealand artist Richard Robinson's site with demos, lessons and more linked there. One of my favorite art websites.
One of my favorite artists, Mitch Albala, of Seattle, WA. He is a fantastic teacher and his book, Landscape Painting, is the current classic in the field and I highly recommend buying a copy. I read this every year to continue learning from it. Great tips for plein air painting.
Seattle artist, Dave McGranaghan, one of my early teachers still doing very colorful northwest scenes.
Another northwest artist, Ned Mueller, who is an awardwinning landscape artist and fantastic colorist.
Willow Bader works in encaustic to great effect. Her specialty is dance scenes and figures in wax.
